How to Change Your Behaviours

If you want to change things in your life then you must first change your behaviours. The problem for most people is that they believe changing their behaviour will take years and they want change now. But can change happen in an instant? The simple answer is Yes, it can! Yet because of society’s views on change and our own personal fear change inevitably takes some time for some people. You see, if we change too quickly, by society’s standards, then it means we never really had a problem to begin with.
If you want to change your behaviours the most effective way to do it is to associate extreme and present sensations (or feelings) of displeasure, disgust or hardship to the way you use to behave and enormous and present sensation (or feelings) of joy and achievement to the new behaviour.
There are no simple approaches to behaviour change but no matter which approach you use it all boils down to seven steps and you must go through them all in order to have change you desire. These steps aid us in finding an efficient and empowering way to make the change effective and lasting. Here are the seven steps,
Step 1: Decide What it is You Truly Want.
Many people have a hard time answering this question honestly if at all. Most have no idea what it is they truly want yet they know exactly what it is they don’t want. It is important to always keep in mind that whatever we focus on in life is what we get. So by focusing on the things you dislike or no longer desire to experience you get much more of it, it’s that simple. It is therefore imperative that you decide on what it is you truly want as it will give you something to focus on and move toward.
Be as specific as you possibly can be about what you want. This will give you clarity and the more clarity you have the more energy and power you have to pursue and achieve what you want much quicker. So it’s not enough to say you want a car, no no no you must be more specific and say ‘I want a 2007 BMW 321i sedan, black” that is being more specific.
Step 2: What’s Stopping You from Having it Right Now.
This is so important because if you don’t know what’s standing in your way then you will be running blind towards your goal. You will know what it is you need to overcome or avoid all together. Most of the time whats stopping us from changing is that we tend to think that the change we seek is going to cause us great distress than staying where we are right now. Change can bring about unknowns and that’s a part of what we fear. So think about this very carefully and be honest with yourself.
Step 3: Get Strong enough Reasons Why.
You must find a lot or reasons why you must change now. These reasons will be your motivation and must in part be linked to whatever you think may be stopping you from having what you desire right now. Change is rarely a question of capability, but of motivation. How motivated you are usually determines the actions you are willing to take and how persistent you will be. So it’s not a question of can you do it but rather will you do it or not and this in term boils down to your level of motivation. If you are highly motivated nothing will stop you but if your motivation is low any and every thing will stop or delay your progress. It you put together strong enough reasons to change, we can change in a minute something we have failed to change for years.
You must recognize that for most of us change is predominantly a ‘should’ and not a ‘must’. It may also be a ‘must’, but it’s a ‘must’ for some time in the future (usually the distant future). To create the change we desire now we must create a sense of urgency, as if our lives depend on it, such that we are moved to follow through.
Most of us fear change, we concern ourselves with thoughts like “What if I quit my job and start a business and it fails, I would have lost the sure income I have from my job” it’s common for most people to feel a sense of mixed emotions about change there is the despair and pleasure associated with it and this makes us uncertain as to what to do. The outcome is that we tend not to fully utilise the resources we have available within ourselves to make the changes we desire occur almost as instantaneously as when we are completely committed to changing.
To create the sense of urgency necessary to evoke a change you must associate enormously intense despair to not changing such that you know you must change right now. It is in that moment when you say “that’s it, I’ve had enough” “I will not go on like this another day!”
The strongest reasons you create for yourself that will motivate you is that which comes from inside you. When you are aware of not living up to your own expectations and standards for your life it can be a great motivator. We all want to live and act in accordance with our own vision of ourselves on a consistent basis.
To find other strong and emotional reasons ask questions of yourself. Questions like “what will it cost me if I don’t chang this now?” ‘what is it already costing me emotional, physically, spiritually and financially?”. You should also think of the way it affects your loved ones, and other people you care about, make the distress of not changing feel so intense and real that you will want to take action and change now.
You should also find and answer questions associated with the pleasure you will feel if you change. This will help you to mentally link those positive sensations to the idea of changing. So ask yourself questions like “How much better am I going to feel about myself if I change this today?” “What other things could I accomplish if I made this change right now?”. The important thing here is to get as many reasons as you can and make many of them strong reasons why change is necessary now and not some day in the future. So if you are not moved to make changes right now it’s because you don’t have strong enough reasons.
Step 4: Break out of Your Unhealthy Behaviours.
To get the change we want to see and experience in our lives it’s not enough to know what we want and find strong enough reasons why. You can be extremely motivated to change but if you keep behaving in the same ways doing the same unhealthy things then your life will not change and all you will have is more frustration and despair. Too many people want something different yet we continue to behave in the same manner. Insanity it is said is doing the same thing in the same way expecting a different result.
Consider also the person who wants to create a change because of the distress they are now feeling but they get some benefit from that which they are trying to change. What usually happens to most people is that they subconsciously believe that by maintaining the old behaviour they will something they will not get any other way. At this point they have mixed emotions about changing. It’s like someone who wants to loose weight but they still indulge in eating lots of chocolate because it gives them great comfort. Unconsciously they want the pleasure they get from eating chocolate.
You can do all the right things but if you derive a secondary benefit and it’s too strong, you will most likely go back to your old behaviour. What you must do is to break out of these unhealthy behaviours by getting enough reasons to change and also find a new way to get your needs met. You should also increase the strength and intensity of the reasons why you must change.
Another way you can break out of those unhealthy behaviour is to just stop the behaviour right now, ‘cold turkey’. You simply stop never to return to that behaviour again.
A key element to breaking out of an unhealthy behaviour pattern is time. You can change your behaviour far better if you break the pattern in the moment the behaviour is occurring any later and your efforts will be strained or ineffective.
Step 5: Find or create a new Empowering alternative.
This step is so important step. to gain long-term and long lasting change you must find an alternative way of getting out of despair and into feeling sheer pleasure. This is the reason why most people fail when then try to change and why their attempts are only temporary. So you may have followed the previous steps and also broken those unhealthy behaviours but what will you replace it with? You need to fill the gap with a set of options that will give you the same pleasurable feeling without the negative side effects. So when you decide to stop drinking soda you must come up with a new way or ways to replace the benefits you gained from drinking soda. This could be as simple as taking up body building or concentrating on fitness.
Step 6: Make Your new empowering Alternative consistent.
To make sure that the change you’ve created is consistent and long-lasting first you must rehearse it (the new behaviour) over and over again until it is a set behaviour. All of this must be done with high emotional intensity or else all the repetition in the world will not help you to change.
Next you need to set up a schedule of reinforcement for your new behaviour. You do this by rewarding yourself each time you succeed in engaging the new behaviour. So you don’t wait until you have lost fifty pounds but the moment you can show up in your gym and actually begin exercising you can give yourself pat on the back. You can set up a series of short and long-term goals and as you achieve each of then you immediately reward yourself. If you don’t do this you will begin sooner or later to see every accomplishment as just a drop in the tall bucket of your goal and use it as a reason to go back to your old behaviour. Whenever you continually reinforce a behaviour or emotion it will become an automatic and conditioned response. Anything you fail to reinforce will eventually dissipate.
Step 7: Put the new behaviour to the Test.
In order to be sure that your new behaviour will work in the future you will need to test it. One of the ways to do this you is to imagine for the example, the situation that used to distress you and see if it still distresses you or has the new way of feeling replaced it.
You will also want to test the consequences of your change. What effect will the changes you have made have on those around you. How positive an effect will the changes have on your personal life and you work or business life. You must be sure that the new behaviour is appropriate based on your current beliefs, values and lifestyle.
These seven steps can be used to change almost anything, the key is to use it.

The power of positiveness

Positiveness means maintaining a state of positive expectations about people and situations, including a positive state of energy in your thoughts and emotional patterns. Dr. Norman Vincent Peale's book, The Power of Positive Thinking, was published over 40 years ago and it continues to sell well because it contains such a universal truth: the attitudes we hold help to shape the reality we experience.
Having a positive attitude isn't something you just tack on to your old personality. That positiveness isn't external like a new suit. It comes from deep within you. It has to or it would get wiped out with the first sign of a countervailing negative force. Positiveness is built on having your own positive life philosophy, on knowing what strengths you have, and on surrounding yourself with other sources of positiveness.
Many of us haven't taken the time to consider what our own life philosophy is. If you haven't, it doesn't mean you don't have one. You're just operating from it unconsciously. By life philosophy, I mean, in simple terms, something like: I know I'm here to live up to my potential, make a contribution to society, and have a good time. Someone else might say: I'm here to serve God through being of service to my fellow human beings. Another philosophy might be: I'm here to show others that despite physical handicaps, you can lead a productive life and enjoy what you have.
Your personal philosophy can contain a vision such as: I'm here to save the planet from environmental destruction. Or, I'm a valuable member of a company that's improving the way human beings communicate with one another. Your philosophy acknowledges who you are and what your purpose is for being alive. A truly positive philosophy, one that's motivating, encompasses more than just you. Again, if you haven't formulated one, your unconscious personal philosophy might sound something like: "I'm here to make it through the day, day after day, until I die." Or, "I'm here to grab as much as I can of material possessions and thrills, because you only live once." Having a well-articulated personal philosophy gives you a sense of purpose and it can help you get through rough times as well.
The second aspect of positiveness comes from knowing what strengths you have to build on to achieve that life philosophy. This involves taking a personal inventory about your talents and skills and also what you like to do. Ideally, we'd all like to make a living or spend our time doing what we love. The people who come the closest to that are those who actually take the time to figure out what they love doing. Then you figure out what skills you have and which ones you need and take a step closer to matching your ideal life's work with the reality of your work life.
Having a positive life philosophy and knowing what strengths you have to build on will only get you so far. The third aspect of positiveness is surrounding yourself with other sources of the same energy. Occasionally we hear stories of people who struggle against great odds, prove the naysayers wrong and achieve the nearly impossible. They turn around a defunct company, they stop a highway from going through virgin land, they bring out a new product line in record time, or they beat the odds on terminal cancer.
By definition, they had to have had a positive philosophy to get them there and they had to know what they could do themselves and what they needed to get from others. Those stories rarely mention the fact that those people always had some other source of positive energy outside themselves that kept them going. Most probably it was other people they could rely on for support. Other people who were also positive about their ability to succeed. Perhaps they were also motivated by the example of some historical figure. Perhaps they drew strength from a spiritual source. The point is, they didn't do it alone. They needed to be embedded in some sort of supportive, positive context that recharged them when their own batteries were running low.
Ideally, you surround yourself with the kinds of people who exhibit the positive traits we're talking about. Avoid the two-dimensional folks who tend toward the negative traits we discussed earlier - the ones who see things as either/or, right or wrong, and don't care to entertain any other thoughts. These people don't help recharge, they drain you.
Ever since Dr. Peale introduced his formulation of positive thinking, we've been hearing the notion of "having a positive attitude" from every motivational book and speaker you could name. It's not that we don't need to be reminded once in a while to get out of a negativity rut. We do. But the way "positive attitude" is sometimes presented is like buying a new outfit or getting a haircut. Just go out and do it. How?
I hope in this brief discussion I've given you the beginnings of a deeper understanding of the How. It begins inside you with a positive life philosophy, a positive sense of who you are and what you bring to the table of life. And it requires that you embed yourself in a context of positiveness - to tap sources beyond yourself. If this trait isn't already in your repertoire, then begin here. The trait of positiveness is so attractive, other people will be drawn to you.

BELIEVE THAT ARE WEALTHY,EVEN WHEN THE WEALTH HAVE NOT COME

You are lost if you do not believe that having money is a good thing.
You need the self-confidence and focus to follow your dream and this will be fatally undercut if you have the wrong philosophy of life and money. No amount of effort on your part will overcome a faulty philosophy.
If, deep down, you believe that wealth is a sin or that money is dirty, or wicked then the first step is for you to correct this error or give up all hopes of wealth for you and your family. What is a 'wrong' philosophy with regard to making money?
Anything which could be described as altruistic, socialist, collectivist, communist or any one of its thousand manifestations no matter what the label, no matter what the disguise, no matter what the smoke screen.
Without exception, every self-made millionaire I have met was a rugged individualist. Most of them despised government, although many were clever enough not to say so in public.
And believe me, there were approximately zero socialists amongst them.
A socialist, whatever he calls himself, is someone who believes that brute force should be used to loot from the productive, in order to provide handouts for the unproductive. No matter how you disguise it, or make it look fancy, that's the plain truth of the socialist doctrine.
I believe that it is impossible for you to attempt to get rich if you have some nagging doubt that money is the root of all evil, that Capitalism is bad or that wealth should be divided up amongst the needy. You have surrendered the philosophical high ground if you sign up for any of these positions.
Let me apologize in advance if you find this a little heavy. It is my sincere wish that you read this article and stay with me. Later articles are far easier. The teachings I produce in order to help people have a better life aren't merely plucked from the air, randomly. My views are based on a solid, 'from the ground up' philosophy of life - a thing which few people have in our compromise age of mixed economies.
It is a powerful thing to have a coherent philosophy of life. Without this, you react to life's events with a series of random, mood of the moment responses which are often contradictory and self-defeating. You pick emotions and opinions from an array of ill-considered viewpoints and hand-me-down beliefs. In contrast, a coherent philosophy empowers you. The correct thing to do in all situations becomes obvious - it is merely a question of being strong enough to do it, which is not always so easy!
No thief, no con-man, no criminal will ever come close to stealing the amount of wealth taken from you by force due to bad philosophy. I am, of course, talking about state theft of your life efforts. If you do not believe such theft is wrong, your wealth-generating efforts are doomed.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PERSISTENCE

If you persist you really cannot fail.
While you may fail many times along the way, you have not truly failed until you accept failure. However, if you are truly persistent, failure is a clear indication you are getting closer to success.
How can that be?
Because with each failure comes very valuable knowledge. The knowledge of what DOESN'T work, (this is the basic premise of testing).
Acknowledge failure brings you a step closer to success and you will never look at it the same way again.
Do you have a light in your house? Of course you do. Do have a light in your car? Of course you do. Do you see them in the street, in the shops, airports, hospitals, restaurants, etc, etc? Yes, they are everywhere.
Well, the electric light was borne from one man's irresistible persistence to invent what many said was impossible.
It wasn't easy, thousands of times he failed....thousands!! How many people make it past 3 failures? Most give up after only one. Plenty never even try.
But Thomas A. Edison, the creator of the incandescent light, took each of those failures in his stride.
With the knowledge of what DOESN'T work, each failure took him a step closer to changing the entire world!
We only want to get rich. A much, much easier task.
If persistence can change the world, imagine what it can do for you.
Persistence can be developed through 4 simple steps.
Are you ready?
Pay close attention, these are life skills you should embrace deep within your psyche...practice them whenever you want to rise above your present dilemma...teach them to your children.
The 4 Steps to Developing Persistence
Step 1
Have a definite goal fueled by a burning desire to achieve it.
Step 2 Have a definite plan and continually work at it.
Step 3 Close your mind against all negativity. Do not think about or be discouraged by the negative comments that may come from family, friends and acquaintances.
Step 4 Form a friendship with one or more people who will encourage you to follow through with your plan and achieve your goals.
Personally, I was never taught to persist. Whenever the going got tough I quit.
After years of underachievement, poverty and unhappiness I knew my life philosophy wasn't working. I decided if I ever wanted things to change I needed to change.
So I set about discovering the laws of life known by the very rich and the very happy.
The 4 Steps to Developing Persistence are among the most valuable.
Here's how they can apply to you:
Step 1Have a definite goal backed by a burning desire to achieve it.
- I'm guessing you want to be rich. If you do commit yourself to achieving that goal you are half way there.
Step 2Have a definite plan and continually work at it.
- You must have a plan because without one you are treading water. How many people do you know have goals?
Probably not many, I know because I asked a lot of the people around me what their goals were and most of them just went "...aahhh....dunno".
That's the kind of aimlessness that will see you doing the same unrewarding job for the next 15 years.
Step 3Close your mind against all negativity. Do not think about or be discouraged by the negative comments that may come from family, friends and acquaintances.
- If you know someone who has a habit of discouraging you, don't tell them what you are doing or what your goals are. Wait until you're having some success and then tell them.
Anything they have to say then will either no longer apply or will be seen for what it is: -- An attempt to stop you from rising above the position in life they would prefer to see you occupy! --
Step 4Form a friendship with one or more people who will encourage you to follow through with your plan and achieve your goals.
- If you know people of similar mind then that is fantastic, spend time with them, soak up their positivity.
If not, don't worry because you do not necessarily need to form a personal relationship. Encouragement from the great minds and achievers of our time can be found in books, tapes and CD's.
Jim Rohn is very good, others are Anthony Robbins and Napoleon Hill.
Persistence is a necessary ingredient in any achievement. Obviously it must be, because if you didn't persist you would never finish anything.
The degree of your persistence is actually proportional to the size of the achievement.
It has been a defining characteristic of some of the greatest men and women to ever walk our planet.
Persist!

5 BEST WAY TO KILL PROCRASTINATION

Have things to do but can't get yourself doing it? Tasks, chores, or job in the office that have been left too long? No problem! With just a handful of quick and easy tips you'll be moving in the right direction in no time at all.

BREAK IT DOWN
Tackling projects all at once is a sure way to keep things from getting done. Break your tasks down into manageable steps. Entire house need cleaning? Just take it one room at a time. Need to organize and file your taxes? Break them down into smaller categories - gathering forms, listing deductions, finding receipts, etc.

GET HELP
If you can't find a way to get yourself to follow through, find someone who can. This tip can work in two ways. First, you can find a friend or family member who can tackle the job with you, cutting the work in half. Get the kids to help with chores or invite a friend on the morning run you've been skipping.

Your other option is reaching out to the people who are good at motivating you to get moving. Explain your procrastination frustration and see if they can work their magic. Either way you go, be sure to return the favor; if the procrastination bug ends up biting them, be the first to jump in and lend a hand.

ASK "WHY"
Why are you putting it off? If you can get to the heart of your procrastination, you may be able to find a different approach to reach the same result. For instance, if you've been putting off studying for an exam because you get too distracted at home, change up the routine and head to the coffee shop or bookstore.

JUST SKIP IT
Looking for the cause of your procrastination has another benefit: the thing might just be worth putting off. Ask yourself, "Does it really have to be taken care of right now?" or, "Does it have to be taken care of at all?"

If you've been putting something off time and again, there's a chance it doesn't need to be done now - or ever. But this only works with to-do's low on your priority list. If you know it needs to get done sooner than later, sometimes the best advice is to...

JUST DO IT
Have you ever thought about putting something off for so long that you could have actually taken care of it in half the time? If you know it has to be done, don't waste your precious time worrying or stressing out about it. Don't waste any time "thinking" about it. Just get up and start.

If the office needs organizing, get up and do it. If the checkbook needs balancing, open the book and balance. Don't fall into the trap of over thinking things and making a mountain out of a molehill. If you know it needs to be done, decide then and there to clear your mind and get your body moving!

Passionately committed to your success.

HOW TO GET UP WHEN YOU ARE FALLING

HERE I WILL SHOW YOU FIVE STEP ON HOW
TO STAND FIRM AGAIN WHEN FALLING

5 Steps to a Better Attitude

We all get feeling down once in a while. Here are a FIVE tips to help you get back up quickly.

1. Practice upbeat communication! Make an effort to greet people in a positive way because people typically reflect the tone of your greeting back to you.

2. Learn something new and interesting! Develop a new hobby or learn how to do something you have always been interested in. You'll be amazed at how much more exciting life is when you are involved in something interesting.

3. Act positive! Have you ever noticed that if you mope around the house, acting tired and depressed, you feel even more tired and depressed? But if you get up and act enthusiastic about life, even if it is only an act at first, pretty soon, you will feel enthusiastic. In other words, fake it until it becomes true. Shakespeare said it more eloquently, when he counseled, "assume a virtue, if you have it not" (Hamlet 3:4). Do this: when you wake up tomorrow morning, jump out of bed and say, "I feel great! It's a great day to be alive!" Say it with conviction, and in no time it will be a great day. Of course you will feel a little silly, that's OK. It sure beats dragging out of bed mumbling, "today's going to be another lousy day just like yesterday."

4. Look for the Good! Make a conscious decision to look for the positive. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Most people are about as happy as they decide to be." If you look around, you will discover that everyone has challenges and heartbreaks; and everyone has good things in their life. The issue is not the problem--everyone has problems of one type or another--it is our reaction to the problem. Will you choose to respond positively, no matter what life hands you, and then focus on the good things that are happening? Or, will you choose to react negatively, and focus on what's wrong? The decision is yours.

5. Give yourself a break! Remember, YOU are the only one who can help your attitude. You cannot depend on other people or changing circumstances to get you out of the dumps. Take time to give yourself the break you deserve. Stop criticizing yourself or blaming yourself for everything that goes wrong. Remember, you are doing some things right too!

Follow these 5 simple ideas and watch your attitude (and your altitude) soar

LET YOUR MISTAKE ENCOURAGE YOU

The Webster new encyclopedic dictionary defines the word mistake as to choose wrongly; to understand wrongly; to estimate incorrectly; to identify wrongly; a wrong judgment; or a wrong action or statement.
The definition above indicates that anybody can make a mistake irrespective of qualification, position, place of work etc.The word mistake invokes a negative outcome.
Most times bosses, colleagues and partners in the workplace forget the fact that mistakes have often being the mother of invention. Some worthwhile ideas and inventions have actually being a product of mistake. Take the case of correction fluid as an example.
Before somebody begins to get me wrong, am not saying you should go out there and be inventing all manners of mistake. But when they eventually occur, which is obvious once in a while take a positive look at it. As soon as a mistake occurs, the next thing that comes to mind is punishment as a way of correction or as a way to forestall future occurrence.
But in some cases, the reverse has actually produced better results. It has being identified that mistakes can be used to motivate employees.
The story is told about an executive who had lost 10 million pounds at IBM. His boss instead of firing him which seems to be the correct thing to do in that circumstance decided otherwise. When he was called to meet Thomas Watson Jr., president of the company, the young man had already cleared his desk. Do you know why you are here? asked Thomas Watson Jr. I suppose you’re going to fire me? the anxious executive replied. Fire you! Are you crazy? I’ve just spent 10 million pounds on your education.Punishing people for mistakes is a great way to kill off ideas. Once people realize they will suffer retribution when things go awry, they soon learn to play safe.
This is fine if you see an organization merely as a machine, with the people in it merely cogs. However, this approach is almost certainly bound to fail in our fast moving world where it is often more important to be flexible than to always get things right. The freedom to make mistakes is not a license to be reckless. You do not ignore mistakes by simply shrugging your shoulders and saying that too bad. Rather, you use them as an opportunity to encourage yet more learning, to get it right next time, to build fail-safe systems.
According to Dr. David M. Burns Aim for success not perfection.'' Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life''. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make you a far happier and more productive person.Try adopting the principle that people can make mistakes but are not permitted to hole the ship below the waterline.
This has stood the test of time. The more you personally commit to the idea of experimentation the better. Involve your team, customers and other stakeholders in your experiments so that they are all sharing the success and any possible failure
So don't be afraid to make mistake, but each time it occour just encourage your self by the mistake and move on.There is always new thing to learn each time you make a mistake.
Goodluck untill we met again,
YOU MUST SUCCESSED

Why? Why not? Questions that create wealth

"Some people look at things the way they are and say why, while some look at things the way they could be and say why not?"– John Kennedy
I have always marveled at people who are not curious about anything; people who just take everything as it comes, and merely shrug off anything they don’t understand.
I marvel because I can’t understand them! How can anyone see or hear something completely new and not at least try to understand the "why " or "how" of it?I guess many feel that people like that are better off.
As far as they are concerned what they don’t know can’t hurt them. Well perhaps - but I’m afraid I can’t agree at all. I’m inclined to think that the greatest asset, next to a sense of humuor, is a healthy curiosity.
Curiosity may have "killed the cat" but where human beings are concerned, the only thing a healthy curiosity will kill is ignorance.
A healthy curiosity can also eradicate poverty and take an individual or organization to the next level. Most of the inventions and changes in our society are as a result of peoples’ curiosity.
"Why did the apple fall down?" and that resulted to Isaac Newton coming up with the law of gravity. That wasn’t the first time an apple is falling down, nor will he be the first person to witness it happen, but he was the first to ask the question why.
Albert Einstein once remarked "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.
It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never loss a holy curiosity. He spent a few years in the "garment center" pushing and pulling racks of dresses through the crowed street.
Now many of those who push these racks or hand trucks can’t see past the front of the truck. They are interested in only one thing-getting the dresses from one place to the next. That’s their job, and what else is there to think about? But our friend happened to be a curious nature.
He was interested in the dresses he transported. He learned their prices, and wondered why they were priced so high. During his spare time he went about finding out how much the material per dress was worth. He learned why manufacturing the dresses was so costly and thought about methods to cut down this cost. He went on to learn all he could about the business from his position behind a hand truck. It covered some years- and when the opportunity to go into business for himself arrived, he was ready. His ideas on lower manufacturing costs, and therefore lower prices for the same quality merchandise, couldn’t help but make him a success. He is now hiring many people to push his hand trucks around; and these people would have the same opportunity he had, if they would just exercise the same curiosity.
Dave Sutherland remarked "Sometimes the questions you ask are more important than the answers you receive."Some school of thought advised that we ask open-ended questions to enable us get positive response from people. The same can be adopted in trying to get positive response from ourselves. If you form the habit of asking questions when you come to a crossroad instead of giving up, the possibilities of coming out with answers that will not only proffer solutions to your challenges but is capable of changing the world will be endless.
The story is told of a young Igbo man. As a fresh university graduate, all his effort to secure contemporary employment met with countless failure. Surviving became so excruciating that he would rather die than live on. Suddenly, an idea struck his mind. He realized he could make a living from dealing in used clothes. "Why not?" he asked himself. So he went about the neighbourhood collecting items that the owners no longer needed - with a big sac, he would go from house to house requesting for these materials. And in a short while, he had amassed clothes of different shades-in size, style and texture. All at virtually no cost save his time and energy. Then he began putting his idea into practice – to recycle his collections. First, he loosened the entire fabric of each garment. Turned them inside out, and reassembled them in their former fashion. The result - the same old clothes, but relatively new in appearance. Can you believe this? His idea also introduced a new fashion in town. He went on to make a trade out of his discovery. And the business became so lucrative as to attract more participants. Worthless fabrics that were no good, only for the refuse heaps, began attracting money. Today, the man through this business acquired some of life’s conveniences to keep him comfortable.
According to Benjamin Franklin "The way to wealth, if you desire it, is as plain as the way to market. It depends chiefly on two words, industry and frugality; that is waste neither time nor money but make use of both.
."Dr. Russell Conwell through his classical speech, "Acres of Diamonds" which he gave more than six thousand times inspired one woman. (This same story has inspired millions all over the world.
If you have not read the book "Acres of Diamonds" please do. You can even download from the Internet.). Back to our story.
She heard Dr. Conwell say that everyone has a great creative, inventive idea that are worth vastly more than all the gold ever mined. She believed him in spite of her doubting husband. Later, in her job as a menial file clerk pinning collated papers together, she stuck herself with a straight pin and had an intuitive flash that there had to be a better way. Then something inside of her began to tell her why not. She experimented with the idea and came up with paper clip. That was how she invented the paper clip, which made her a millionaire. Today, in the center of Philadelphia, in United States of America a six-story-high paper clip stands as a constant reminder that anyone can have a life-serving, life-benefiting, life prospering idea that will make everyone better off and no one worse of.
In the words of Rudyard Kipling "We are the opening verse of the opening of the chapter of endless possibilities."

DREAMS HAVE PRICES

Dreams have prices
His name was Joseph Lister, and he was a second-generation physician born in England in 1827. Back in the days when he began practising Medicine, surgery was a painful, grisly affair.
If you had the misfortune of being injured and requiring surgery in the mid-1800s, here’s what you could have expected: you would have been taken to a hospital’s surgical theater, a building that was separate from the main hospital to prevent the regular patients from becoming upset by the screaming.
(Anesthesia had not yet been developed.) You would have been strapped to a table that looked a lot like the one in your kitchen, under which sat a tub of sand, positioned to catch blood.A physician likely surrounded by a group of observers and assistants would have performed your surgery.
All of them would be dressed in the regular street cloths they wore throughout the course of the day while travelling around town and treating patients. The instruments the doctor used would have been pulled from a nearby drawer where they had been placed (unwashed) after the previous surgery.
And if your surgeon needed his hands free while working on you, he might have held this surgical knife between his teeth.Your chances of surviving surgery would be a little better than 50 percent.
If you had the misfortune of having your operation in a military hospital, your chances of surviving would go down to about 10 percent. Of surgery during that era, one contemporary doctor wrote, “A man laid on the operating table in one of our surgical hospitals is exposed to more chances of death than the English soldier on the field of Waterloo.” Like the other surgeons of his time, Lister was distressed by the death rate of his patients, but he was ignorant of the cause.
However, he was determined to discover a way to save more of his patients.Lister’s first major breakthrough came after his friend Thomas Anderson, a chemistry professor, gave him some writings.
The papers were written by scientist Louis Pastuer. In them the French scientist stated his opinion that gangrenes was caused not by air, but by bacteria and germs present in air. Lister thought those ideas were remarkable. And he theorized that if the dangerous microbes could be eliminated, his patients would have a better chance of avoiding gangrene, blood poisoning, and other infections that often killed them.
When Lister, who was working at a hospital in Edinburgh, presented his beliefs to the senior surgeons, he was taunted, ridiculed, and rejected. Each day as he made his rounds, his colleagues insulted and enticed him mercilessly.
He was an outcast.Despite the rejection of his peers and an inherently gently nature, Lister refused to back down. He continued his work and waited.
One day, two days, then four days passed. To his joy, after four days there were no signs of fever or blood poisoning. After six weeks, the boy was able to walk again.Amid criticism, Lister used carbolic acid in all his procedures.
During 1865 and 1866, he treated eleven patients with compound fractures, and none of his patients contracted infections. As he continued his new procedures, he did research to improve his methods, finding additional antiseptic substances that worked even better. In 1867, Lister published his findings, and still the medical profession ridiculed him.
For more than a decade, he communicated his findings and encouraged other doctors to adopt his practice. Finally in 1881, sixteen years after his first success with a patient, his peers at the international medical congress held in London recognized his advances.
They called his work perhaps the greatest advance that surgery had made. In 1883, he was knighted. In 1899, he was made a baron. Today, if you’ve had any kind of surgery (if you’ve not, l don’t pray you do), you owe Dr. Joseph Lister a debt of gratitude. His determination secured your safetyTo make a change you must be willing to pay a price.
Men and women who have changed this world didn’t come about it over night. Though they were rejected, the end product was always motivating them forward.
What is it God has placed in your hand today? That could be surviving grace of someone somewhere. Don’t expect to have the world carrying you shoulder high when you come about something new. It’s only you that sees’ it in your mind’s eye and only you can see it to it’s concluding end. Do not be caught wasting your valuable time with dream busters, they will always be around and you are doomed if you spend your energy proving to them that you can do it. Prove it by taking action.Take a look around you. Someone invented all that you see.
But the truth of the matter is that whoever is involved paid a price to see turn from dreams to reality. If they can, you can. Good luck.

TO ACHIEVE MORE GOALS,SAVE TIME

A definition of time management might be a process of gaining flexibility and cutting back time.
The advantage to having a time management plan is that we are loosing something that brings us reward and gaining something that brings us bigger rewards. We end up with a “no loosing” situation if our time management plan is right.
To develop a successful time management plan we must first evaluate our time.
We must sit down and ask ourselves
how long does it take us to eat?
How long does it take us to get dressed and groom for work?
How long does it take us to prepare the meals we have to eat?
Everything we do takes a certain amount of time. You might start out by writing down just how much time it takes to do each of your very have to tasks each day.
Then sit back and evaluate your list. Are you wasting 10 minutes here and there on those have to items that could be used for something else? Where our time goes is an essential element to determine for our entire time management plan if we want to begin spending more quality with the most important people of our lives and less wasted time on some routine task.
This is the absolute first step of creating your own personalized time management plan, a time management plan that will allow your more time to do the things in life that are most important to you. You must determine where you are wasting time and then decide how to use that time more effectively.
Once that time is lost, there is no calling it back. Another important element of creating a successful time management plan is to be sure and finish tasks before moving onto another task, unless you are at work, in a job that requires doing multiple tasks at one time (multi-tasking).
Once you finish one task, move onto the next task and follow in pursuit of finishing all tasks. Once you finish the last task, sit back for a moment in a comfortable position and think of what you accomplished.
How much time did it take you to complete task? Don’t forget to be keeping down your start time and end time. Of course this type of listing time of tasks works best for those things you do as routine each day.
You want to work on completing the tasks in as little time as possible so you that you have to add in the unexpected tasks of the day or…….much better…….so that you have time to do something you really, really want to do, something that is not routinely required of you to do.
For example, like visit on the phone with a favorite friend, your daughter or mother, or whoever, read some in the books you want to complete at some point or another in your lifetime.
A successful time management plan provides us with a source for more flexible schedules. When we have flexibility we have more time for ourselves. Once you have determined your priorities for time usage, then you can start adding tasks that you been putting off because you just don’t have the time to do them. So….you now need another list of goals and plans of tasks and things you want to do but never have the time to do. One of the best ways of keeping these lists is on your computer where you can quickly erase and add to. But then again, paper in a notebook is also good, perhaps a special book.
Time management is the process of working to succeed. When we work to succeed we reach our goals. We first have to decide what those goals are, of course, and then work toward them using our time management plan. You will probably have to sit down and really ponder on what is needed to reach each goal of set of goals, and of course, decide how much time each step of the way you will need.
Some people like to set short term goals, reach that goal and then set a long term goal. It might be a better plan to try and set short and long-
Time management is essential since it demands that a person plan, act on those plans and stay focused on those goals with motivation.
You must also keep reality in mind, and plan for the things out of your control that could go wrong and therefore steal time from your time management plan. Some examples would be computer failures, family illness, personal illness, inches and inches of snow and ice, horrible sudden tornados and hurricanes.
It is always wise to include elements of your time management plan in accordance to what could happen out of your control. You may want to have a plan ahead of time of using your time in some other manner if your computer fails. Catch up on your paper filing or something. Right now for me, I am experiencing an internet outage.

Time management is working to succeed. If you want to succeed then you must work hard every day to meet your goals. I recently cut down my preparing and eating breakfast time by about ten minutes. Instead of my usual meal, I now mix up a Zone Shake and drink it while doing some other chore like adding to or emptying out the dishwasher, or even while opening up my daily e-mails. In reality here I am using ten extra minutes to work on my goals, rather than preparing and eating a regular breakfast.
so I encourage you to manage your time well, because TIME is money
